What does a dentist do?

Dentists are responsible for oral health, they diagnose and treat problems with patients’ teeth and gums. Dentists provide a number of services including, repair fractured teeth, fill cavities, remove tooth decay, straighten teeth, whiten the patient’s teeth, and educate on oral hygiene. Becoming a Dentist requires at least 5 years in medical which may seem like a long time, but if you love and enjoy your job, you do get a good paycheck at the end of each month.

How long does it take to become a dentist?

In the UK it takes at least 5 years to become a dentist. This is down to the fact that you need to complete a bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) degree, which takes on average 5 years. How much do dentists make?

According to CV-Libary the average salary in the UK for a dentist is £63,665 at the time of writing this. The bottom 10% of dentists with low experience earn around £29,000 annually and the top 10% earn £100,000+ depending on your salary.
